From the moment you land to the day you fly home, every step is planned and supported by our international patient team.
A member of our international patient team greets you upon landing and accompanies you to your accommodation. Once you have settled in, you meet Dr. Tas for an in-depth pre-surgical consultation. Your health history is carefully reviewed, the planned procedure is walked through step by step, and all preparatory examinations including blood work are completed at the clinic that same evening.
Your private transfer arrives at the clinic early in the morning. The procedure is carried out under general or spinal anaesthesia and typically concludes within 45 to 90 minutes. Following a monitored period in the recovery suite, you are settled into your private room for the remainder of the day. Discomfort is generally minimal and well-controlled with the prescribed pain relief. Our nursing staff check on you regularly through the evening.
Dr. Tas rounds on you during the morning to assess your recovery and review your initial results. Once he confirms you are ready, you are discharged and escorted back to your hotel. A comprehensive printed aftercare guide is handed to you covering daily wound care, your medication regimen, movement guidelines and the signs that would warrant contacting the clinic. A patient coordinator checks in by phone that afternoon.
The focus today is on allowing your body to begin healing at a steady pace. Gentle movement around the hotel is recommended to maintain healthy circulation without placing strain on the surgical site. Our clinical team is reachable at any time via WhatsApp or phone should any concern arise. The majority of patients notice a clear reduction in swelling and discomfort compared to the previous day and feel ready for a short walk outdoors.
A dedicated follow-up appointment is scheduled at the clinic on this day. Dr. Tas or a senior member of the team examines the surgical site, changes any dressings as needed and confirms that the early healing phase is on track. Patients who are flying home today are issued a formal medical clearance letter along with emergency contact details. The majority of our international patients consider this day the conclusion of their clinical programme.
Patients who wish to allow themselves extra time before the journey home benefit greatly from spending this day in Istanbul. Those feeling well often take a leisurely walk along the waterfront or visit a nearby neighbourhood at a comfortable pace. Our coordination team stays fully available for any remaining questions, prescription needs or transport arrangements. This optional day is particularly recommended for those with longer connecting flights.
A private vehicle is arranged to take you to the airport at your preferred departure time. You leave with a full written medical record, digital imaging files and a personalised recovery timeline outlining each milestone ahead. Follow-up video calls with Dr. Tas are scheduled in advance to monitor your progress remotely. Our patient support team stays in touch throughout your recovery and is always available to answer questions.
